Best Overall: Taj Exotica Resort & Spa
This Mediterranean-inspired resort is located in Benaulim, southern part of Goa. The luxury rooms and villas are spread over 56 acres, offering manicured gardens and ocean views. A golf cart is available to pick you up, or you can rent a bicycle. Both come to help you explore everything you find on the property: gardens, a mini golf course, a small cricket ground, and sports and pool activities for children and adults.
Of the four restaurants, Lobster Village stands out for offering an ocean view and of course, fresh seafood. Lifeguards on the pool, television in the bathroom and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity are everywhere - even on the beach. For conferences, business meetings and destination weddings, the resort has ample amenities courtesy of the 4,600-square-foot banquet hall.
Where the Taj truly stands among the rest is in their service. They will upgrade the rooms without being asked, leaving small gifts behind, and help plan surprises. Best Budget: Lazy Frog
One of the newest hotels in Goa, Lazy Frog began operations in November 2015. Situated in the village of Carmona in South Goa, the property has functional rooms, wooden cottages, a garden, badminton court and pool. The spacious room has a small kitchen, AC, attached bathroom / toilet and double bed. Amenities are standard: daily fresh towels, microwave, mini fridge and bar, cable television with over 100 channels, and daily housekeeping service. There is a small restaurant on site, which outsources its food, but the chef takes orders for breakfast and breakfast.
Although it is a small place, it is well kept and extremely clean. Carmona Beach is a good walk away and owners are on hand to help organize buses, cars, and taxis, although a bus stop is also nearby. Lazy Frog is located in a residential area, but has plenty of shops and small restaurants. It is ideal for those seeking some standard luxury but at a cheaper rate.
Best Boutique: Coco Shambala
Coco Shambala, a private retreat in the middle of a forest-style garden, has four well-furnished villas. Each has two bedrooms, a private jet pool, a well-stocked kitchen and an open living pavilion and shower area. You are always surrounded by greenery when the heat of summer gets a bit brisk.
The service of the resort is attentive and friendly. There is a 24-hour gateway, which you can contact using a pre-ordered cell phone. Even you can ask them for suggestions for sharing a cup of masala tea or exploring the state. Every feature of Coco Shambala is tailored to the guests' choice. The food is fresh and prepared keeping in mind the culinary requirements. There is a communal communal pool, which can double as a bar. A spa, away in the garden, offers aromatic Ayurvedic treatments and massages. While it is far from the bustle of the main city center, Coco Shambala offers a car and driver (call 24/7) when you want to visit nearby beaches or go shopping.

This five-star hotel is located on the banks of Gonsua Beach in Majorda, amid lush green paddy fields, just a short walk from the airport. A 200-year-old Portuguese restored bungalow is ideal for those wishing for a quiet, home-made stay. Arco Iris, a pet-friendly, five-room dwelling, is located near a lake and has a large garden. All rooms have high ceilings, large windows, thick walls and an en-suite bathroom; Just keep in mind that only two are air conditioned. There is a long veranda to rest during the day, and a well-stocked library during downtime. Breakfast is included; Lunch and dinner are charged and can be booked in advance. The biggest attraction here is Feni, a resident Labrador.
If requested, the host will take you for a walk and introduce you to the neighborhood: the paddy fields, the nearby Zuari River and its backyard, the church and Lutolim village and the avian population.
