It will now become easier for people to travel to Karnataka as the state government has done with some investigations which were earlier meant for interstate commuters in view of the increasing number of Kovid-19 cases. "If you are traveling to Karnataka, you do not need to register or quarantine yourself upon arrival. Customers are advised to monitor their health."

The official Twitter handle of Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru tweeted, "The latest guidelines have been issued here by the Government of Karnataka for all inter-state travelers arriving in Karnataka."

The following no longer applies for travelers to Karnataka:

  1. Registration on Seva Indus portal
  2. Admission and medical check up at state borders, bus / railway stations and airports.
  3. Screening at district centers.
  4. Classification of travelers.
  5. Hand seal
  6. 14-day quarantine
  7. Isolation and Testing
  8. Enforcement of house quarantine

The order further states that if the person is asymptomatic upon arrival, they can work or report their activities without any domestic quarantine in the state. "However, they will monitor their health for 14 days from the date of their arrival for any symptoms of Kovid-19 such as fever, cough, cold, sore throat, difficulty in breathing, etc. and immediately fail the therapy. Consult. Or call the objection-stop helpline 14410, "the government said in its order.

The change in protocol has come at a time when Karnataka has seen a sharp jump in people testing positive and is one of the top five worst-affected Kovid-19 regions in the country.

The health department said that the state recorded a sharp increase in 8,161 new Kovid-19 cases and 148 related fatal cases on Tuesday, taking the total number of infections to 2,91,826 and killing 4,958 people.
